Hermès SS 2011

This is how designers should go out, with an unforgettable collection and Jean Paul Gaultier's finale collection for Hermès was absolutely stunning. That's all I can say really.

Neil Barrett SS 2011

Neil Barrett delivers yet another entirely wearable collection for spring. The British designer has an incredible eye for tailoring and proportions with his minimal womenswear designs with a masculine edge.
I could go on and say how much I love the "colours" but nude/beige/black/white is all I've been gushing about this past fashion month so I'll keep my mouth shut. Instead I'll talk about how much I need a pair of loose-ish sheer leggings in my wardrobe as soon as possible, so I can recreate the black blazer and skirt look.

If you're reading this Mr. Barrett's people, shipping to Canada isn't that bad!

Givenchy SS 2011

OH MY GOD

Words can't even describe how much I love this collection right now. I couldn't even pick my top 5. Riccardo Tisci never fails to astound me, with every season I fall deeper and deeper in love with this not-so-closet-goth. From the runway music (??? probably Sisters of Mercy and Salem's "King Night") to the make-up and hair , top to bottom, I'm dying right now.
The continuation of the leopard print from men's spring 2011 was expected but not underwhelming with the sheer fabric detailing. The white cross dress, the zippers, the high collars. This is truly one of the few collections that I wish I owned every single piece from.

Comme Des Garçons SS 2011

I'm so glad fashion month is nearing a close because my brain has completely dissolved into nothing and I can no longer coherently speak about fashion in any way shape or form (until Givenchy).

Yohji Yamamoto SS 2011

HANDS DOWN FAVOURITE COLLECTION OF THE SEASON. MOTHERFUCKIN' RIGHT HERE.

During Fashion Week I decided to go to the Museum at FIT because they had an exhibit on Japanese Fashion (Japan Fashion Now) going on and how it has evolved from the 1980s. Upon entering I saw it was a room (2 rooms?) full of vintage Issey Miyake, Rei Kawakubo, Junya Watanabe and my bro right here Yohji. What more could anyone ever want in life? I walked out with even more love for Japanese clothing and it's (not always) simplicity and perfect draping.

Back to the collection, for someone who has lived in Doc Martens since the age of 6 I feel a lot better about my choice of footwear having seen the runway photos.
Nothing screams spring like black drapey shit on more black drapey shit. The seasonal transition may be difficult for some but for me I just layer lighter black drapey fabrics instead of heavy ones. Simple as.
I'm not even going to try and form sentences that depict how I feel right now so I'll just leave you guys with these words; amazing, marvelous, fantastic, astounding, wondrous.

Rick Owens SS 2011

What a coincidence that I just bought a maxi dress and now Rick Owens is all about em!? There is no coincidence, I just wanted to feel special for 2.5 seconds in knowing that I'm ~*super on trend*~. I adore the structured top/high waistline and then it's WOOSH fabric to the floor.

Gareth Pugh SS 2011

I was hoping they'd upload some full-length shots of Gareth's new collection and...they did. Although he's known for his outlandish silhouettes and texture this is his most wearable collection to date. I'm glad he brought back the infamous geometric black and white pattern because those coats are to die for. Don't even get me started on the metallics.

What do you guys think?
