Siamese Twins: Two Looks

Everyone always makes fun of my wonderful husband and I, because we tend to match more often than not as a result of him raiding my wardrobe on a regular basis. This time, I decided it was my turn for revenge and so I stole his Monki jacket.

Metal Magazine x Freixenet Party

Jonathan Lloyd of Bevel, Kat and Duck, Chris Reed and Chelsey

Had a wonderful time at the Metal Magazine x Freixenet party last week at the Maritime Hotel with all of my favourite NY people. These photos have diminished our goth cred significantly.

My Room

Although I arrived to London three months ago with not much, I think I've finally made my room a home. All I'm missing now is a Kartell Bourgie lamp and 4 more square metres of space.

Hampstead Heath

Anytime it gets over 20ºc here is grounds to drop everything and go have a picnic. On Friday some friends and I went to the beautiful Parliament Hill in Hampstead Heath and saw George Michael in the woods to eat lunch and lounge around for about 5 hours. It's so perfectly quiet and secluded but the views of the city keep reminding you that you are in fact in the middle of London.
I decided to be completely impractical and wear my new Acne Deena & Ozzy boots to drudge through fields and forest, and if you're wondering why I'm wearing a sheer button down on a hot sunny day, it's because I don't do tans.

Black & Gold

Here's a tip, don't go shopping with painful shoes on because you will end up buying new ones.

I wouldn't even touch anything if it was gold for the longest time but recently I've warmed up to the idea of it. I got dragged to Topshop yesterday and my plan to not shop anymore was foiled when I found these amazing buckle boots and golden cuffs (I was lurking the Hermès website the day before so it was perfect timing)! I think the more simple my wardrobe is getting the more big statement jewellery I'm wearing which isn't a bad thing, it's a nice change.

I think these photos accurately depict how cold, rainy and windy it's been today. I honestly can't believe this is July weather because if I was back in Toronto I'd be half naked in my living room lying in front of a fan.

Completely off-topic but on my way to the pub yesterday I had my first encounter with the lovely stinging nettle thanks to some jerk who didn't prune their front yard. I'm never going outside or near nature again because it hurt like a son of a bitch.

Trouble Come This Morning

Love Like Blood

Culte de Laissez Faire Jacket, UO Shirt Dress, Zana Bayne Harness, Supermarket Leather Paneled Leggings, Underground Creepers

I was forced to take take some photos yesterday so this is my lazily-walking-back-from-sainsbury's-in-pouring-rain outfit. I'm still not over the weather here, it changes so dramatically in one day that you have to layer like a motherbitch or you'll die of heat/cold/wind/rain/all at once.

Suede at The Brixton Academy

Group photo by Paul Khera, Live photos by me and others by Odile
I don't even care that my face is crooked.

These past couple days have been the most amazing days of my life. Not only did I fulfill a 10 year dream by seeing Suede perform 3 nights in a row at The Brixton Academy but I met wonderful people in the process.
Seeing all the songs live has given me a newfound appreciation for the band and really changed the way I listen to them. You would think that growing up around rock bands and actors would desensitize me to getting all sappy about this (and for the most part it has) but Suede have just been such a big part of my life. That's all I can really say.

Thank you to everyone who made these days so special and fuck you to the guy who called me a fat American "who should lose weight so everyone could fit in the front row". He's lucky I didn't have my Bevel ring on because he'd be toast.

I wear black on the outside because black is how I feel on the inside

Topshop maxi dress, H&M sheer shirt, Antique milk of magnesium spoon necklace, Bevel NYC ring, Marc Jacobs ring

Louisa and I spent the morning in London Fields and somehow ended up at the Hackney City Farm a couple of days ago and I could not have been more appropriately dressed, no? A big maxi dress is perfect for 25º weather and getting chased by a very angry duck. I tried to get a photo of my awesome gradient nails (black to silver) but the lighting was shit so you can all stare at my broken finger. I can do the Star Trek thing without even trying.

Onto more pressing matters now because I've been in a terrible clothing rut lately. Getting dressed in the morning has become extremely tedious and uninspiring due to the fact I could only bring what would fit into a large suitcase and a carry-on. I miss the other half of my closet that I left back in Toronto and until I get a proper job (this being unemployed business is getting old) I can't build a new one.
My flatmate insists that I would look quite sharp in some blues and reds but the thought of that makes me a little unwell and I spent the other day going around to various vintage shops but all I came back with was impatience and the realisation that I will never be one of those thrifty people.

The Craft Pt. 1

Beth has an amazing view of Manhattan from her roof, so we dragged Chelsey out of bed and decided to take some photos before I left NY. We kind of look like we're a part of some cult or coven but in reality this is how we leave the house everyday. Disgraceful.

Part 2 will come shortly.

Day of the Lords

Slow and Steady Wins the Race Sunglasses, Culte de Laissez Faire Jacket

I decided to have a little fun today and bust out my Slow and Steady Wins the Race sunglasses I bought on one of my first trips to New York all those years ago.
I admit, I've become a bit of a coward when it comes to wearing them because they're so extravagant but I promise to let them see the light more often. One should never be ashamed of wearing anything.
The lipstick is Makeup Forever, Chelsey and I bought it for our grand dinner at Pastis back in September. Sadly (thankfully?) it hasn't seen much of anything either.

Edit: Lol the last photo makes it look like I put makeup on to look paler, I can assure you I didn't. I'm naturally as pale as a cancer patient.

-22ºc

It's Sunday, it's boring and colder than you could ever imagine, so what do you do? Take photos of course! My friend Christine and I trekked all the way down to the water and decided to take photos of ourselves improperly dressed for the lovely -22ºc (that's -8ºF for you American folks) weather.
I was trying to do a little Yohji Yamamoto SS 2011 "tie-dye-goth" with the leggings while Christine (who does a way better "fashin face" than I do) just wanted to show off her gorgeous coat from Aritzia.

(Culte de Laissez Faire jacket, Complex Geometries vest, Kaylee Tankus dress, Leggings from Holt Renfrew, Necklace from H&M, Docs)

I still can't feel some of my toes.
